Skills Upgrade For Security Guards In Tourism Sector
More than 60 security guards working in the tourism sector are undergoing training to upgrade their skills through a collaboration between the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) and The Barbados Police Service (TBPS).
TBPS Tourism Liaison Officer, Assistant Superintendent, Stephen Griffith, says the two-day workshop taking place at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre aims to ensure that the 63 security guards from the private security companies have the skills to adequately serve this critical sector.
Meantime, the BHTA’s Tourism Liaison Officer, Sade Deane, also stressed the importance of the initiative in order to enhance the skills of the security personnel.
